Priyanka Chopra As Social Activist

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been appointed the National Ambassador of UNICEF and she will support it in promoting child rights.

Apart from acting Priyanka Chopra, former Miss World 2000, is taking keen interest in different activities related to the environment and society. Priyanka Chopra follows the footsteps of superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore in supporting UNICEF’s work for children in India and around the world. She is recently appointed as the National Brand Ambassador of UNICEF.
“I am very honoured to formalise my association with UNICEF as their National Ambassador to help bring awareness for child rights and adolescence,Over the past few years. I have worked very closely with the team at UNICEF to bring awareness to a number of causes related to India’s young, and, I realized that there is so much more to be done. I hope that by lending my voice, I can make a difference to their lives” said Priyanka at signing ceremony in Delhi.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra says many people often think higher education is not needed for their girls and as the brand ambassador for UNICEF, her top priority will be educating young and underprivileged girls in slums and villages. “When I use the word education, I do not mean academic qualifications like doing a Ph.D., but the girl should have knowledge about reproductive healthcare, sanitation, education and her right to live with dignity. We want girls living in urban slums and rural areas to stand on their own feet and look after their entire family. Parents have a duty to ensure that their children are allowed to achieve their full potential.” Priyanka said.
